THE SPARKLES, ALL DAY BAR

LOCATION: VARVAKIOS MARKET AREA, ATHENS │ GREECE

The Sparkles team, after many years of activity in the Jewelry Sector, decided to develop a new business venture that combines a food and beverage space with a retail element where visitors can also discover their jewelry collection.
They requested the design of a space that reflects the aesthetic and character of Sparkling Wishes, translated into a hospitality concept within the building in Athens, located in the center of the Varvakios Market area. The aim was to create a welcoming and carefully considered environment for people who wish to experience Greek flavors and beverages in a setting defined by the old city build environment. The space operates from morning until the afternoon.

The project is developed on two levels. On the ground floor, there is the entrance and bar-cashier area, a relaxed seating zone, and retail corners. In the basement, there are the sanitary facilities, the kitchen, and storage areas.
The interior is defined by a restrained palette of warm, natural earth tones, creating a calm and grounded atmosphere. Simple forms, textured surfaces, and muted materials work together to support a relaxed, all-day environment that feels neutral and timeless.

All spaces were developed through a detailed design process and modelled in 3D, allowing for the continuous refinement of material selection, color composition, and lighting design. Internal elevations and bespoke joinery elements were developed in parallel with the selection of freestanding furniture. The lighting installation was analyzed using photometric software to ensure appropriate illumination levels, uniformity, glare control, and accurate color rendering.

The result is a refined space with a contemporary character, combining traditional and raw materials. The design of the store was essential in hosting this new concept for the team, reflecting their ethos.
